Wedding Guest Trends 2021

Weddings are back, so it’s time to get dressed up! If you’ve got an invite for the upcoming wedding season, we have some great inspo and top tips for planning your outfits this year.
On Trend
2021 trends are a combo of this years and last. So, if you’re attending a postponed wedding, there is no need re-think your style.
This year there is a big love for dresses with a puff sleeve, floral pattern or flowing fabric – hooray! They add an instant touch of romance to your attire – perfect for a wedding.
If dresses aren’t your thing, why not pair wide-leg trousers with a structured jacket, which can be worn with either heeled or pump shoes – it depends how much you like to dance!
Whether you feel your best in spring pastels or vibrant colours, the option is yours, wear what you feel comfortable in. You’ll be wearing this look all day, so it is essential that you feel confident.
Pantone Colour of the Year
The on-trend colour of the year is Ultimate Grey (pebble grey) and Illuminating Yellow (bright yellow). These two colours are easy to wear and complement most skin tones. Teamed up with silver statement jewellery, you’ll be sure to look the part. However, if you would feel more comfortable in a different colour, we suggest muted teals, rose shades, dusty blues, lavender or sage green.
Hats
Once a wedding attire staple, hats are a rare sight at weddings these days. Whether you enjoy statement headwear or tend to go for something more subtle, incorporating a hat into your look adds a special touch to your wedding outfit. If the celebration is a formal affair, then a hat will add a regal look that will suit the wedding theme. We’re not saying that you should go for a traditional wedding look, but if you enjoy wearing a hat, then take advantage of the opportunity to dress up! However, if you don’t wish to wear a hat, there are some great alternatives, such as a fascinator, a headband, a jewelled hair slide, flowers, or even a statement hairstyle.

Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette
Being aware of wedding etiquette will make your outfit choice easier! Here are a few tips to keep in mind when choosing your look for the day:
- Try to avoid wearing white, ivory or black if possible. Traditionally the bride should be the only one in white or ivory.
- Sometimes less is more; try not to over-style.
- Take a jacket, blazer or cover-up with you so you can enjoy the evening when the temperature drops.
- Feel confident and comfortable in your look.
- Lastly, don’t upstage the bride!
We are delighted that weddings can happen once more! After a long wait, we hope you enjoy and make the most of upcoming celebrations with friends and family! Here’s to magical moments with loved ones…
