Real Wedding: Victoria and Stefan’s Whimsical and Romantic Summer Wedding

Victoria and Stefan’s Whimsical and Romantic Summer Wedding
Victoria Beech and Stefan Nielson booked Dewsall in March 2018, 16 months ahead of their wedding celebrations. Captivated by Dewsall’s exclusivity and the special feel of having the house to share with their loved ones, the couple could not wait to spend time together with their families, especially Stefan’s Danish relatives.
Celebrations were booked for 5th – 7th July 2019, with the wedding taking place on Saturday 6th. It was Dewsall’s leafy, green and open spaces which drew them to this month and created the foundations for this gorgeously romantic and stylish, whimsical wedding which took place.
As the morning of the wedding arrived, the bridal party dressed in personalised robes and enjoyed some getting-ready fizz, whilst the preparations for hair by Nikki Burnham and make-up by Chloe Parasmo got underway.
Capturing details were a key part of Victoria and Stefan’s vision, and photographer Amy O’Boyle did not disappoint. Amy was able to capture the astounding beauty of the ceremony location prior to the arrival of guests.
The couple had chosen to marry under our canopy, surrounded by the stunning herbaceous borders of the West Lawn, with an aisle scattered with fresh petals and beautiful peach and blush floral arrangements from Wild Bunch.
As the ceremony drew closer, Victoria was assisted into her gorgeous lace gown by one of her six bridesmaids, whilst Stefan enjoyed a quick tipple with his groomsmen in the Billiard Room.
The ceremony was the perfect combination of elegance and modern-day fairytale with a dash of boho, all which allowed Victoria and Stefan to create their unique storybook wedding. Victoria’s attention to detail seriously paid off and the love could be felt all around.
Victoria and Stefan had chosen the stunning Wigornia String Quartet to play whilst Victoria made her way down the aisle, a timeless addition which set the elegant tone perfectly.
In the height of summer and surrounded by so much beauty, the couple celebrated their marriage with a tree planting, an ancient unity practice recognised in many cultures throughout the world. This eco-conscious addition to the ceremony brings a fresh twist to modern-day nuptials and also ties in perfectly with the natural ethos at Dewsall.
After signing the register in The Study, Victoria and Stefan emerged from the main house for the confetti moment surrounded by their families and friends.
As guests moved to the gardens to enjoy the canape reception and a further performance from the string quartet, photographer Amy was able to capture the gorgeous bridal party at the front of the house.

Incorporating Stefan’s Danish family traditions into their wedding day was important for Victoria and Stefan. During the reception, if the groom disappears from the room, all the male guests will arise to kiss the new bride. Likewise, when the bride leaves the room the female guests will line up to kiss the groom!
The couple also cut the cake together and then they eat a piece, to bring good luck to their marriage in the future.
The speeches were heartfelt and both Stefan and Victoria’s friends spoke. The couple have been together since their late teens, and Stefan retold their story beautifully. Not a dry eye in the room, guests were awash with tears of laughter and joy for the newly married couple.
As the Wedding Breakfast came to an end, the dance floor was revealed and guests were wowed by the bespoke background the couple had fitted to the wall, “The Nielsens”.
With their signature sound and vintage feel, cool and stylish band, Evelyn and The Vipers got toes tapping around the Wainhouse and it wasn’t long before guests took to the dance floor to celebrate this gorgeous day.
Guests enjoyed handmade rustic margarita pizzas and sat around the fire-pits before the evening drew to an end with a sparkler celebration before departure.
